Montenegro Fishing Licence – How to Get a Fishing Permit as a Tourist

Montenegro fishing licence online

If you are looking for a Montenegro fishing licence, you have probably noticed that the process is not simple.

Kotor Fisherman is not a government office. This is a private assistance service that helps tourists obtain a legal fishing licence through authorized local fishing clubs as defined by the official Law on Marine Fisheries and Mariculture (Montenegro).

To help tourists avoid confusion, delays, and language barriers, I provide a fishing licence assistance service.

How Fishing Licences Are Issued in Montenegro

In Montenegro Fishing licences are:

  • printed as physical (hard copy) documents
  • valid only for the selected period
  • required to be carried while fishing
  • checked by inspectors on the water or shore

There is no digital or PDF version accepted.

Because of this, every licence must be:

  • requested in advance
  • issued by an authorized club
  • collected as an original document

Payment & Important Notes

  • Payment is required in advance
  • Fishing licences are issued individually
  • Once a licence request is submitted, payments are non-refundable
  • This service is intended for visitors who want a simple and reliable solution

Important note for Budva area requests:

For fishing licences issued through the Budva fishing club, a clear photo or copy of a passport may be required before the licence can be prepared, along with your residential address in your country of origin.

Your document will be used only for the purpose of preparing and issuing your fishing licence and may be forwarded to the authorized local fishing club responsible for issuing the permit.

Pricing & Licence Request

Fishing licence prices in Montenegro are defined by law.
In addition to the official licence fee, this service includes a fixed assistance fee. This service is useful if you do not speak the local language, do not know which club to contact, need a physical licence, or want to avoid wasting vacation time visiting offices.

⭐ What Visiting Anglers Say

Mario was great, through investigation it seems that fishing licences can only be obtained from limited places and there is next to no help online. Having to source one when there would have took days. Mario gets the licence for you and makes sure you are fishing for your full holiday. In my case that meant he personally delivered it to my hotel due to my arrival date. I cannot thank him enough. As a local fisherman he is also helpful for hints and tips

Mario is THE man if you want to go fishing in the Kotor area. Not only did he get the licence for me within one day, delivered it to my doorstep and responded within minutes, he also hooked me up with some fresh bait and answers to all of my fishing questions. If you’;re thinking about fishing yourself in Kotor, this is the guy to get your licence from, it’s more than worth it.

I was visiting Montenegro from the UK and wanted to make sure I had the correct fishing licence before fishing from the shore. The process was not very obvious online, so this service saved me a lot of time. Communication was clear, the steps were explained well, and I received the licence without stress. Very useful for tourists who want to do things properly.
